GorchyBoy1927, this was brought up by fans in the July AGM meeting, email the club and they should add you to the mailing list. Fortunately The Shed End Boys were attendance, and took some brief notes. Please see below:
AGM Minutes 13th July 2023:
•Chairman Stefan Tang was asked about the increased season ticket costs. He explained the reasoning for the increase was mainly down to Tubson’s wage. He was challenged on this as there should have been no increase on his wage, but Tang let attendees know that he lost a round of golf with Tubson, resulting in a 5% wage increase. If Tang had won, Tubson was going to supply balls for the year. The club will foot this bill as usual.
•Manager Martin Haddaway was asked if he had any response to the recent allegations in the Gorchester Weekly, he declined comment without his lawyer.
•Fans asked if the ball boys would return this year, the club advised due to the previously mentioned budget costs, children would have to pay for the privilege. £20 per game, but they do get a pair of match worn socks.
•CEO Richard Costan then took time to discuss the new club badge and motto. He advised that this was a new chapter in the clubs history, and wanted to mark it with something special. When challenged on the incorrect date on the club badge, he advised that unfortunately the club had gone to EZ Printing in Fluck for the design to be made, and they saw the opportunity for a quick prank. Instead of using the 1927 date (marking the clubs inauguration to the South West Rivers and Hills League) they swapped they swapped the 2 and 7 around. Due to the clubs tight budget, they could not afford to make the change. Something that will be rectified in the event of a money spinning cup run.
PS, Gerry often comments about your calves, he says he thinks you shave but I said you don't.
